Description
Improper handling of DBPointer objects during BSON serialization in MongoDB's server-side JavaScript engine can result in internal process memory contents being included in data returned to the client. This constitutes an unintended information disclosure affecting deployments that use server-side JavaScript.
A vulnerability exists in MongoDB's server-side JavaScript engine due to improper handling of DBPointer objects during BSON serialization. This issue can cause internal process memory contents to be unintentionally included in data sent to the client, resulting in information disclosure. The vulnerability affects MongoDB versions 6.0.0, 7.0.0, 8.0.0, 8.1.0, 8.2.0, and 8.3.0.
Users can upgrade to MongoDB versions 8.2.12, 8.0.28, 7.0.39, 8.3.7, or 9.0.0-rc1 to address this vulnerability.
