Description
A maliciously crafted FBX file, when parsed through Autodesk FBX SDK, can trigger a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in fbxsdk::FbxIO::BinaryReadSectionHeader. A malicious actor can leverage this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process.
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Autodesk FBX SDK, specifically in the BinaryReadSectionHeader function of the FbxIO module. This vulnerability arises when a maliciously crafted FBX file is parsed by the SDK, allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary code within the context of the current process. The issue affects versions of the Autodesk FBX SDK through 2020.3.9.
Users are advised to update to Autodesk FBX SDK version 2020.3.10 or later. The update can be obtained through the Autodesk Access application or the Accounts Portal.
