Description
A vulnerability was determined in OS4ED openSIS-Classic up to 9.3. The affected element is the function save action of the file modules/students/Student.php of the component General Information Tab. Executing a manipulation of the argument students can lead to sql injection. The attack may be performed from remote. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.
A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in OS4ED openSIS-Classic versions through 9.3. The issue resides in the 'General Information Tab' of the student module, specifically within the 'save' function of 'modules/students/Student.php'. The vulnerability allows for SQL injection by manipulating the 'students' argument, which can be exploited remotely. This flaw has been publicly disclosed and is currently exploitable.
It is recommended to use parameterized queries or prepared statements to handle custom field titles, preventing direct concatenation into SQL queries. Additionally, custom field titles should be validated against a strict whitelist of allowed characters before being saved to the database.
