Description
A vulnerability was identified in HKUDS AnyTool 0.1.0. Affected is the function subprocess.run of the file anytool/local_server/main.py of the component Execute Endpoint. The manipulation of the argument command/shell leads to os command injection. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit is publicly available and might be used. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.
A command injection vulnerability has been identified in HKUDS AnyTool version 0.1.0. The issue resides in the Execute Endpoint, specifically within the subprocess.run function of anytool/local_server/main.py. The vulnerability allows for arbitrary OS command execution by manipulating the command and shell arguments. This exploitation can be initiated remotely, and a public exploit is available. Despite an early issue report to the project, no response has been received.
It is recommended to add an authentication layer to the server, ensure that the shell flag is not accepted from clients, and to escape or safely pass values to AppleScript on macOS.
