Description
A weakness has been identified in Trusted Domain Project OpenDKIM up to 2.11.0. This affects the function dkim_canon_selecthdrs of the file libopendkim/dkim-canon.c of the component DKIM Signature Header Selection. Executing a manipulation of the argument h can lead to out-of-bounds write. The attack can be executed remotely. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be used for attacks. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
A vulnerability allowing an out-of-bounds heap write has been identified in Trusted Domain Project OpenDKIM versions through 2.11.0. This issue arises in the DKIM Signature Header Selection component, specifically within the 'dkim_canon_selecthdrs' function of 'libopendkim/dkim-canon.c'. The vulnerability can be exploited remotely by manipulating the 'h=' tag of a DKIM-Signature header in an inbound email. This exploitation leads to memory corruption, causing a crash and denial-of-service condition during email processing. While the immediate consequence is a crash, the vulnerability could potentially be exploited further, depending on the heap layout.
The vulnerability has been addressed in the OpenDKIM project. Users should update to the latest version where this issue has been fixed.
