Description
A vulnerability was determined in mathurvishal CloudClassroom-PHP-Project up to 5dadec098bfbbf3300d60c3494db3fb95b66e7be. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown functionality of the file registrationform.php. Executing a manipulation of the argument FName/LName/Addrs can lead to cross site scripting. The attack can be executed remotely. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized. This product implements a rolling release for ongoing delivery, which means version information for affected or updated releases is unavailable. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in CloudClassroom-PHP-Project version 1.0 and prior. The issue resides in the registration form component, specifically within 'registrationform.php'. This vulnerability allows an anonymous user to inject a script that is executed in the context of an administrator when they access the student details page. The injection occurs through the 'FName' and 'LName' fields, which are not properly sanitized before being saved to the database. As a result, the injected script is executed when the admin views the student listing, potentially leading to session hijacking and unauthorized access to the admin account.
No official fix is available. However, it is recommended to sanitize all input fields, encode output in the correct context, and use prepared statements for database interactions. Additionally, access to the registration form could be restricted or monitored for exploitation indicators.
