Description
An insufficient authentication vulnerability in NETGEAR WiFi range extenders allows a network adjacent attacker with WiFi authentication or a physical Ethernet port connection to bypass the authentication process and access the admin panel.
A vulnerability allowing authentication bypass has been identified in NETGEAR WiFi range extenders. This issue enables a network-adjacent attacker, either authenticated via WiFi or through a physical Ethernet connection, to bypass the authentication process and gain access to the admin panel. The vulnerability arises from insufficient authentication mechanisms in the affected devices.
Users are advised to manually check the firmware version and update to the latest version. The vulnerability has been fixed in firmware version 1.0.1.82 or later for the EX2800, EX3110, EX5000, and EX6110 range extenders.
