Description
A security issue exists within FactoryTalk Optix MQTT broker due to the lack of URI sanitization. This flaw enables the loading of remote Mosquito plugins, which can be used to achieve remote code execution.
A remote code execution vulnerability exists in FactoryTalk Optix versions 1.5.0 through 1.5.7. The issue arises within the MQTT broker, where improper URI sanitization allows the loading of remote Mosquitto plugins, potentially leading to unauthorized code execution.
Users can upgrade to FactoryTalk Optix version 1.6.0 to address this vulnerability. For those unable to upgrade, Rockwell Automation recommends following their security best practices.
