Description
The Knowledge Base plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin slug setting in all versions up to, and including, 2.3.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with administrator-level access, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Knowledge Base plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 2.3.1. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the plugin slug setting. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with administrator-level access to inject arbitrary scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the affected pages. The vulnerability is present in multi-site installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled.
Users can update to version 2.3.2 or a newer patched version to address this vulnerability.
