CVE-2025-71403 Details
Description
better-auth versions before 1.1.20 contain a bypass vulnerability in trustedOrigins validation logic affecting absolute URLs and wildcard domains. Attackers can construct malicious callbackURL parameters that pass origin checks and trigger open redirects to steal sensitive tokens for account takeover.
A bypass vulnerability has been identified in better-auth versions prior to 1.1.20, specifically in the trustedOrigins validation logic. This vulnerability affects absolute URLs and wildcard domains, allowing attackers to create malicious callbackURL parameters that bypass origin checks. Exploiting this flaw can trigger open redirects that steal sensitive tokens, such as password-reset tokens, potentially leading to account takeover.
Users can upgrade to better-auth version 1.1.21 or later to address this vulnerability.
