A Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in SPIP versions prior to 4.4.9. This issue arises in the private area of the application and is a result of an incomplete fix in SPIP 4.4.8. The vulnerability exists because the 'echappe_anti_xss()' function was not consistently applied to input, form, button, and anchor HTML tags. As a result, attackers can inject malicious scripts through these elements. Furthermore, this vulnerability is not addressed by the SPIP security screen.
Users can update to SPIP version 4.4.9, which addresses this vulnerability by applying the 'echappe_anti_xss()' function systematically to the affected HTML tags. The update can be performed using the SPIP loader or by downloading the latest version from the SPIP official website.
