Description
Tenda AX-3 v16.03.12.10_CN was discovered to contain a stack overflow in the mac2 parameter of the fromAdvSetMacMtuWan function. This vulnerability allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via a crafted request.
A stack overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Tenda AX-3 router, specifically in version 16.03.12.10_CN. The issue arises in the 'fromAdvSetMacMtuWan' function, where the 'mac2' parameter is processed. The vulnerability allows attackers to send crafted requests that cause a denial-of-service condition by exploiting the lack of bounds checking in the 'strcpy' function. This oversight enables the overflow of a fixed-size buffer, corrupting adjacent stack memory and overwriting critical variables and control data, ultimately causing the device to crash and disrupt normal services.
