Description
An out-of-bounds read in the GSF demuxer filter component of GPAC v2.4.0 allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via a crafted .gsf file.
A heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability has been identified in the GSF demuxer filter component of GPAC version 2.4.0. This vulnerability allows attackers to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) condition by exploiting a crafted .gsf file. The issue arises because the demuxer reads a variable-length 'magic' field from the file's header into a heap-allocated buffer without proper null termination. This oversight can lead to out-of-bounds memory access, potentially causing crashes or, in some cases, information disclosure via logs.
