Description
An uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability has been reported to affect File Station 5. If a remote attacker gains a user account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to launch a denial-of-service (DoS) attack. We have already fixed the vulnerability in the following version: File Station 5 5.5.6.5190 and later
A vulnerability allowing uncontrolled resource consumption has been identified in QNAP File Station 5, specifically in versions 5.5.x prior to 5.5.6.5190. This vulnerability can be exploited by remote attackers who gain access to a user account, allowing them to launch a denial-of-service (DoS) attack by exhausting system resources.
Users are advised to update QNAP File Station 5 to version 5.5.6.5190 or later. Instructions for updating can be found in the QNAP App Center.
