Description
An Improper Neutralization of CRLF Sequences in HTTP Headers ('HTTP Response Splitting') vulnerability [CWE-113] vulnerability in Fortinet FortiOS 7.6.0 through 7.6.4, FortiOS 7.4 all versions, FortiOS 7.2 all versions, FortiProxy 7.6.0 through 7.6.4, FortiProxy 7.4 all versions, FortiProxy 7.2 all versions may allow an attacker able to intercept and modify a user's captive portal authentication request to inject arbitrary headers via crafted HTTP requests.
A vulnerability allowing improper neutralization of CRLF sequences in HTTP headers, known as HTTP response splitting, has been identified in Fortinet FortiOS versions 7.6.0 to 7.6.4, as well as all versions of FortiOS 7.4 and 7.2. Additionally, FortiProxy versions 7.6.0 to 7.6.4, 7.4 all versions, and 7.2 all versions are affected. This vulnerability may enable an attacker to intercept and modify a user's captive portal authentication request, injecting arbitrary headers through crafted HTTP requests.
Users are advised to upgrade Fortinet FortiOS to version 7.6.5 or above, and FortiProxy to version 7.6.5 or above. For FortiOS 7.4 and 7.2, users should migrate to a fixed release. Follow the recommended upgrade path using the Fortinet upgrade tool.
