Description
Substance3D - Stager versions 3.1.5 and earlier are affected by an out-of-bounds read vulnerability when parsing a crafted file, which could result in a read past the end of an allocated memory structure. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.
A vulnerability allowing out-of-bounds read has been identified in Adobe Substance 3D Stager versions through 3.1.5. This issue arises when the application parses a crafted file, leading to a read past the end of an allocated memory structure. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, as the victim must open a malicious file.
Users are advised to update to Adobe Substance 3D Stager version 3.1.6, available through the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app or the Adobe Download Center. For IT administrators, Creative Cloud applications can be deployed to end users via the Admin Console.
