A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in Fortinet FortiADC versions 8.0.0, 7.6.0 through 7.6.3, 7.4 (all versions), and 7.2 (all versions). This vulnerability arises from improper neutralization of script-related HTML tags, allowing an attacker to execute unauthorized code or commands by sending a crafted URL. The issue is present in the virtual server's default error page.
Users can upgrade to Fortinet FortiADC 8.0.1 or above, FortiADC 7.6.4 or above, or migrate to a fixed release for FortiADC 7.4 and 7.2. As a workaround, do not use the 'waf_deny.html' error page or customize it to remove the 'error-info' class or replace it with a standard hardcoded message.
