Description
Improper neutralization of special elements used in a command ('command injection') in Windows PowerShell allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally.
A command injection vulnerability has been identified in Windows PowerShell. This issue allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally by improperly neutralizing special elements used in commands. The vulnerability affects multiple versions of Windows PowerShell on different Windows operating systems, including various Windows Server versions and Windows 10.
Users can install the security updates provided by Microsoft to address this vulnerability. These security updates are available through the Microsoft Update Catalog. After installing the updates, a reboot will be required, except in certain cases where specific utility DLLs are loaded in memory during the PowerShell session.
