Description
Linked URLs during the creation of iFrame widgets and dashboards are vulnerable to code execution. The URLs get embedded as iFrame widgets, making it possible to attack other users that access the dashboard by including malicious code. The attack is only possible if the attacker is authorized to create new dashboards or iFrame widgets.
A vulnerability exists in SICK Field Analytics and SICK Media Server, specifically in versions through 1.4, allowing for code execution via linked URLs in iFrame widgets and dashboards. This issue arises from improper restrictions on rendered UI layers, enabling authorized users to inject malicious JavaScript that executes when the widget receives data. The vulnerability could be exploited to attack other users accessing the dashboard.
Users of SICK Media Server are strongly recommended to upgrade to version 1.5 or later. For SICK Field Analytics, ensure that only trusted entities have access to the device and apply general security measures to operate in a protected IT environment.
