Description
In isSystemUid of AccountManagerService.java, there is a possible way for an app to access privileged APIs due to a confused deputy. This could lead to local privilege escalation with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
A vulnerability in the AccountManagerService component of the Android framework allows apps to access privileged APIs, potentially leading to local privilege escalation. This issue arises from a confused deputy problem, where an app can mislead a component into performing actions on its behalf. The vulnerability does not require any additional execution privileges or user interaction to exploit.
Users can update their devices to the September 2025 security patch level to address this vulnerability. Instructions for checking and updating the Android version are available on the Google Support website.
