Description
LiquidFiles before 4.1.2 supports FTP SITE CHMOD for mode 6777 (setuid and setgid), which allows FTPDrop users to execute arbitrary code as root by leveraging the Actionscript feature and the sudoers configuration.
A vulnerability allowing local privilege escalation has been identified in LiquidFiles versions prior to 4.1.2. The issue arises from the FTP SITE CHMOD command, which can be used to set the SUID and SGID bits on uploaded executables. These files, owned by a user with sudo privileges, can then be executed as root. The vulnerability is exploitable by FTPDrop users who leverage the Actionscript feature in conjunction with the sudoers configuration.
Users are advised to update to LiquidFiles version 4.1.2 or later, where this vulnerability has been addressed.
