Description
A low privileged remote attacker can corrupt the webserver users storage on the device by setting a sequence of unsupported characters which leads to deletion of all previously configured users and the creation of the default Administrator with a known default password.
A vulnerability exists in SAUTER modulo 6 devices, specifically in the embedded web server, allowing low-privileged remote attackers to corrupt the user storage. By sending a sequence of unsupported characters, attackers can delete all previously configured users and replace them with a default Administrator account, which has a known default password. This issue is present in devices running firmware versions prior to 3.2.0.
Users can update to SAUTER modulo 6 embedded software version 3.2.0. This update requires CASE Suite Version 5.2 SR5 or newer. For assistance, contact a local SAUTER representative.
