Description
Use of Externally-Controlled Format String vulnerability in the SonicOS SSL VPN interface allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to cause service disruption.
A vulnerability allowing the use of externally-controlled format strings has been identified in the SonicOS SSL VPN interface. This issue enables a remote, unauthenticated attacker to cause a disruption of service. The vulnerability affects SonicWall Gen7 hardware and virtual firewalls running SonicOS versions 7.2.0-7015 and older, with the exception of the 7.0.1 branch. Notably, SonicWall Gen6 and Gen8 firewalls, as well as the SMA 1000 and SMA 100 series SSL VPN products, are not affected.
Users are advised to upgrade to SonicOS versions 7.3.0-7012 or higher. For specific upgrade instructions, consult the SonicWall PSIRT advisory SNWLID-2025-0013.
