CVE-2025-38548 Details
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (corsair-cpro) Validate the size of the received input buffer Add buffer_recv_size to store the size of the received bytes. Validate buffer_recv_size in send_usb_cmd().
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's handling of the Corsair Commander Pro driver has been addressed. The issue involved improper validation of the input buffer size in the hardware monitoring (hwmon) subsystem. This vulnerability could potentially lead to incorrect data processing or buffer-related errors. The flaw has been fixed by introducing a new variable to track the size of received data and by validating this size before processing commands. The vulnerability was reported by syzbot.
Users can upgrade to the latest version of the Linux kernel where this vulnerability has been fixed. Instructions for upgrading the kernel can be found in the official Linux kernel documentation.
