CVE-2025-3436 Details
Description
The coreActivity: Activity Logging for WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to SQL Injection via the 'order' and 'orderby' parameters in all versions up to, and including, 2.7 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the coreActivity: Activity Logging for WordPress plugin, affecting all versions through 2.7. The issue arises from inadequate escaping of user-supplied parameters in the 'order' and 'orderby' fields, allowing authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to inject additional SQL queries. This exploitation could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive information within the database.
Users are advised to update the coreActivity: Activity Logging for WordPress plugin to version 2.7.1 or a newer patched version.
