Description
Use after free in Windows Common Log File System Driver allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally.
A use-after-free vulnerability has been identified in the Windows Common Log File System (CLFS) driver. This vulnerability allows an authorized attacker to locally elevate privileges. The issue arises from improper memory management, which can be exploited to gain unauthorized access to system functions and data.
As of April 9, 2025, security updates are available for Windows 10 (both x64-based and 32-bit systems), Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64-based Systems, Service Pack 1), Windows Server 2008 (x64-based Systems, Service Pack 2), Windows Server 2016, Windows 11 Version 24H2 (x64-based and ARM64-based Systems), and Windows Server 2022, 23H2 Edition (Server Core installation). Users should install these security updates to address the vulnerability.
