Description
In Permission Manager, there is a possible way for the microphone privacy indicator to remain activated even after the user attempts to close the app due to a logic error in the code. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
A vulnerability has been identified in the Permission Manager of Android 16, where a logic error allows the microphone privacy indicator to remain active even after the user closes the app. This issue could lead to a local escalation of privileges, as no additional execution privileges are required for exploitation.
Users can update their devices to Android 16 with a security patch level of 2025-07-01 or later to address this vulnerability.
