CVE-2025-2542 Details
Description
The Your Simple SVG Support plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via SVG File uploads in all versions up to, and including, 1.0.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses the SVG file.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Your Simple SVG Support plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.0.1. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with Author-level access or higher to upload SVG files containing malicious scripts. These scripts are executed when users access the SVG files, potentially leading to unauthorized actions or information disclosure.
Users can update to version 1.0.2 or a newer patched version to address this vulnerability.
