Description
Software installed and run as a non-privileged user may conduct improper GPU system calls to trigger use-after-free kernel exceptions.
A use-after-free vulnerability has been identified in the GPU driver from Imagination Technologies. This issue affects kernel software running in Guest VMs on systems with DDK releases up to and including 24.3 RTM. The vulnerability arises from improper management of GPU system calls, which can trigger kernel exceptions related to memory that has already been freed. Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to platform instability, causing crashes or reboots.
The DDK kernel module has been updated to address this vulnerability by correcting the improper management of GPU system calls. Users should ensure they are using a version of the DDK that includes this fix.
