Description
When URL categorization is configured on a virtual server, undisclosed requests can cause TMM to terminate. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in F5 BIG-IP systems with Policy Enforcement Manager (PEM) provisioned and URL categorization licensed. When certain virtual servers process malformed URL categorization input, undisclosed requests can cause the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) to terminate, disrupting traffic until the process restarts.
Users can upgrade to BIG-IP versions 17.1.2 or 16.1.x to address this vulnerability. For more information about managing BIG-IP product hotfixes, refer to the F5 article K13123.
