Description
Insufficient control flow management in the Linux kernel-mode driver for some Intel(R) 800 Series Ethernet before version 1.17.2 may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel-mode driver for Intel 800 Series Ethernet, prior to version 1.17.2, may allow an authenticated user to escalate privileges through local access. This issue arises from insufficient control flow management, which could be exploited to gain unauthorized rights or access.
Users are advised to update the Intel 800 Series Ethernet drivers to version 1.17.2 or later. The latest drivers are available on the Intel GitHub repository for Ethernet Linux Ice or through the Intel Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack version 30.0.1 or later.
