Description
The Notibar – Notification Bar for WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via admin settings in all versions up to, and including, 2.1.5 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with administrator-level permissions and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Notibar – Notification Bar for WordPress plugin, affecting all versions through 2.1.5. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions to inject arbitrary scripts. These scripts execute when a user accesses the compromised page. This vulnerability is present in multi-site installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled.
Users can update to Notibar version 2.1.6 or later to address this vulnerability.
