Description
A weakness has been identified in SpyShelter up to 15.4.0.1015. Affected is an unknown function in the library SpyShelter.sys of the component IOCTL Handler. This manipulation causes denial of service. The attack needs to be launched locally. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be exploited. Upgrading to version 15.4.0.1028 is able to address this issue. It is advisable to upgrade the affected component.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in SpyShelter versions through 15.4.0.1015. The issue resides in the SpyShelter.sys driver, specifically within the IOCTL handler component. This vulnerability allows a local low-privilege user to send crafted IOCTL requests that terminate processes with administrative or system-level privileges, except for those protected by the operating system. The lack of proper access control in the driver's IOCTL handler enables unprivileged users to execute privileged actions in kernel space, disrupting critical services or applications.
Users are advised to upgrade to SpyShelter version 15.4.0.1028, which addresses this vulnerability.
