Description
HCL iNotes is susceptible to a Reflected Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability caused by improper validation of user-supplied input. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can specially craft a URL to execute script in a victim's Web browser within the security context of the hosting Web site and/or steal the victim's cookie-based authentication credentials.
A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in HCL iNotes, affecting versions of HCL Domino and iNotes prior to 12.0.2 FP6 and 14.0 FP4. This vulnerability arises from inadequate validation of user input, allowing remote, unauthenticated attackers to craft URLs that execute scripts in the context of the victim's browser. This could potentially lead to the theft of cookie-based authentication credentials.
Users can upgrade to HCL Domino and iNotes versions 12.0.2 FP6 or 14.0 FP4 and later to address this vulnerability. The latest fix releases can be downloaded from My HCLSoftware. If there are issues accessing this link, refer to the HCL Software Support Page.
