Description
IBM FlashSystem (IBM Storage Virtualize (8.5.0.0 through 8.5.0.13, 8.5.1.0, 8.5.2.0 through 8.5.2.3, 8.5.3.0 through 8.5.3.1, 8.5.4.0, 8.6.0.0 through 8.6.0.5, 8.6.1.0, 8.6.2.0 through 8.6.2.1, 8.6.3.0, 8.7.0.0 through 8.7.0.2, 8.7.1.0, 8.7.2.0 through 8.7.2.1) could allow a remote attacker with access to the system to execute arbitrary Java code due to improper restrictions in the RPCAdapter service.
A remote code execution vulnerability has been identified in IBM FlashSystem and IBM Storage Virtualize products. This issue arises from improper restrictions in the RPCAdapter service, allowing remote attackers with system access to execute arbitrary Java code. The vulnerability affects multiple versions across different product lines, including IBM FlashSystem 5000, 5100, 5200, 5300, 7200, 7300, and the IBM Spectrum Virtualize for Public Cloud. In the FlashSystem 9000 series, this vulnerability is present in the 8.5, 8.6, and 8.7 versions.
Users are advised to upgrade to version 8.5.0.14, 8.6.0.6, 8.7.0.3 or 8.7.2.2, depending on their current version. The latest code for each product can be downloaded via the IBM Support Fix Central.
