CVE-2024-48420 Details
Description
Edimax AC1200 Wi-Fi 5 Dual-Band Router BR-6476AC 1.06 is vulnerable to Buffer Overflow via /goform/getWifiBasic.
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Edimax AC1200 Wi-Fi 5 Dual-Band Router model BR-6476AC, specifically in firmware version 1.06. The vulnerability arises in the GET request to '/goform/getWifiBasic', where the router fails to properly validate the length of certain input parameters. This flaw allows an attacker with access to the web interface to manipulate the input, potentially leading to a denial-of-service condition or, in more severe cases, arbitrary code execution. Additionally, the absence of anti-CSRF protections enables remote exploitation using CSRF techniques.
