CVE-2024-46729 Details
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Fix incorrect size calculation for loop [WHY] fe_clk_en has size of 5 but sizeof(fe_clk_en) has byte size 20 which is lager than the array size. [HOW] Divide byte size 20 by its element size. This fixes 2 OVERRUN issues reported by Coverity.
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's AMD display driver has been addressed, which involved an incorrect size calculation that led to buffer overrun issues. The problem arose because the size of the 'fe_clk_en' array was not accurately represented, causing a mismatch that could be exploited. This vulnerability was identified and reported by Coverity.
Users can upgrade to the latest version of the Linux kernel where this vulnerability has been fixed. The specific commit addressing this issue is available in the Linux kernel stable tree.
