Description
A buffer overflow in the GuitarPro1::read function of MuseScore Studio v4.3.2 allows attackers to to execute arbitrary code or cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via opening a crafted GuitarPro file.
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in MuseScore Studio version 4.3.2, specifically within the GuitarPro1::read function. This vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial-of-service condition by opening a specially crafted GuitarPro file. The issue arises from the 'tuning' array, which can be overflowed by manipulating the 'strings' value based on the file's version.
Users can update to MuseScore Studio version 4.4.4, where this vulnerability has been patched.
