Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: mpi3mr: Sanitise num_phys Information is stored in mr_sas_port->phy_mask, values larger then size of this field shouldn't be allowed.
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SCSI MPI3MR driver allows for improper handling of the number of physical connections (num_phys) for SAS ports. This issue arises because the num_phys information is stored in a field that has a limited size, and values exceeding this limit should not be permitted. The vulnerability has been addressed in the official Linux Git repository.
Users can upgrade to the latest version of the Linux kernel available in their distribution's repositories. For Debian 11, this vulnerability is fixed in the linux-6.1 package version 6.1.119-1~deb11u1.
