Description
Uncontrolled search path for some EPCT software before version 1.42.8.0 may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.
A vulnerability exists in some versions of the Intel Ethernet Port Configuration Tool (EPCT) software prior to 1.42.8.0. This vulnerability allows an authenticated user to potentially escalate privileges through local access, due to an uncontrolled search path issue.
Users are advised to update the EPCT software to version 1.42.8.0 or later. The latest version can be downloaded from the Intel Download Center.
