Description
The GeoDirectory – WP Business Directory Plugin and Classified Listings Directory plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the display_name profile parameter in all versions up to, and including, 2.8.97 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the GeoDirectory WP Business Directory Plugin and Classified Listings Directory plugin for WordPress. This issue affects all versions through 2.8.97 and arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the compromised pages.
Users can update to GeoDirectory version 2.8.98 or a newer patched version to address this vulnerability.
