Description
The Golo - City Travel Guide WordPress Theme theme for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation via account takeover in all versions up to, and including, 1.6.10. This is due to the plugin not properly validating a user's identity prior to updating their password. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to change arbitrary user's passwords, including administrators, and leverage that to gain access to their account.
A privilege escalation vulnerability has been identified in the Golo - City Travel Guide WordPress Theme, affecting all versions through 1.6.10. The issue arises because the theme fails to properly validate a user's identity before allowing password changes. This flaw enables unauthenticated attackers to change passwords for any user, including administrators, potentially leading to unauthorized access to their accounts.
Users are advised to update the Golo WordPress Theme to version 1.6.11 or a newer patched version.
