Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (pmbus_core) Fix NULL pointer dereference Pass i2c_client to _pmbus_is_enabled to drop the assumption that a regulator device is passed in. This will fix the issue of a NULL pointer dereference when called from _pmbus_get_flags.
A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability has been addressed in the Linux kernel's PMBus core within the hwmon subsystem. This issue arose because the function '_pmbus_is_enabled' incorrectly assumed that a regulator device was always provided. The vulnerability was present in several versions of the Linux kernel.
Users can upgrade to the latest version of the Linux kernel to address this vulnerability.
