Windows SmartScreen Security Feature Bypass Vulnerability
A security feature bypass vulnerability has been identified in Windows SmartScreen. This vulnerability allows attackers to bypass the 'Open File - Security Warning' prompt, which is a critical security feature designed to warn users about potentially harmful files. The vulnerability exists in multiple Microsoft Windows products, including Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2022. The issue arises from the way SmartScreen handles certain URLs, enabling attackers to trick users into opening files without the usual security warnings.
