CVE-2022-50326 Details
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: airspy: fix memory leak in airspy probe The commit ca9dc8d06ab6 ("media: airspy: respect the DMA coherency rules") moves variable buf from stack to heap, however, it only frees buf in the error handling code, missing deallocation in the success path. Fix this by freeing buf in the success path since this variable does not have any references in other code.
A memory leak vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's Airspy USB driver. This issue arises because a variable, 'buf', was moved from the stack to the heap in a previous commit. While the variable is properly freed in the error handling code, it is not deallocated in the successful execution path. The vulnerability affects the Linux kernel stable tree.
Users can apply the patch available in the Linux kernel stable tree to address this vulnerability. The patched version can be downloaded from the Linux kernel Git repository.
