Description
Under certain conditions, vmdir that ships with VMware vCenter Server, as part of an embedded or external Platform Services Controller (PSC), does not correctly implement access controls.
A vulnerability exists in VMware vCenter Server 6.7, specifically in the VMware Directory Service (vmdir) component of the Platform Services Controller (PSC). This vulnerability arises from improper implementation of access controls, which can lead to authentication bypass. Exploitation of this flaw allows an attacker with network access to port 389 to extract sensitive information.
Users are advised to update to the latest version of VMware vCenter Server. Instructions for updating can be found on the VMware website.
