Description
In ip6_append_data of ip6_output.c, there is a possible way to achieve code execution due to a heap buffer overflow. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
A heap buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the IPv6 data handling component of the Android operating system. This vulnerability allows for local code execution, potentially leading to unauthorized privilege escalation. The issue arises from improper memory management, which could be exploited without requiring any user interaction.
Users can update their devices to the June 2018 security patch level to address this vulnerability.
