Description
An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists in Microsoft Exchange Server, aka "Microsoft Exchange Server Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability." This affects Microsoft Exchange Server.
A vulnerability allowing elevation of privilege has been identified in Microsoft Exchange Server. This issue arises from improper handling of authentication requests, which could enable an attacker to impersonate another user on the server. The vulnerability affects Exchange Server 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2019.
To address this vulnerability, the registry value 'DisableLoopbackCheck' should be removed. This value is located under the registry key 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa'. After removing the value, no restart of the operating system or Exchange Server is required.
